The Lakeland Association of REALTORS®: REALTOR Membership


If you are Sales/Broker Associate joining a Broker:

  • Verify your Broker has REALTORŪ Membership with LAR.
  • Verify that your license has been activated by your new broker by searching for your license at www.myfloridalicense.com

If you are a Broker with a Corporation/Partnership or DBA as a Sole Proprietor:

  • Complete the appropriate paper work with DBPR. (click here)
  • Check online with DBPR for application status. (click here)

Note: Per state regulations we cannot process your application until a license number has been assigned and your license has been activated by DBPR.

  • Complete the LAR Application. (Broker/New office) (Sales/Broker Associate)
  • Call the Lakeland Association of REALTORSŪ to schedule an appointment.
  • What is the cost to join? (click here)
  • What do I bring to my appointment?

    **Copy of Drivers license
    **Copy of Real Estate License or Appraiser license
    **Copy of Corporation license or Partnership license (new offices only)
    **Two separate payments, one for LAR and one for MFRMLS (see cost sheet)

  • What will I do at my appointment?

    **Submit copies of licenses, and application
    **Submit payment for LAR, dues and application fees
    **Submit payment for MFRMLS, MLS service and setup fees
    **Receive a Member #/MLS#
    **Assigned an MLS login key
    **Schedule all mandatory classes.
    **Receive information on LAR and MFRMLS

 Classes I must complete:

  • New Member Orientation

    The new member orientation is a requirement of your REALTORŪ membership and
    must be completed with sixty (60) days of your date of application. The one day class
    will be 7 hours and will include the following topics:

    **Association Structure (LAR, FAR, NAR & MFR)
    **Safety Practices
    **Fair Housing Laws
    **Sales Process
    **Ethics
    **Anti-Trust Laws
    **FAR-BAR Sales & Listing Contracts
    **Questions and Answers
    **REALTORŪ Pledge, Awards, Pins

  • New Member REALTOR® Code of Ethics

    As a new member of the Lakeland Association of Realtors, the Florida and National Association of REALTORSŪ you are required to complete a 2.5 hour training course on the REALTORŪ Code of Ethics.  This mandate from the National Association of REALTORSŪ is enforced by your local association and must be completed within 60
    days of the date your joining, per Article 5 Section 4 of the Associations Bylaws.

    The Lakeland Association of Realtors requires new members to complete this training
    prior to your scheduled New Member Orientation. The class may be completed online
    at www.realtor.org, or if a an approved course is offered prior to your scheduled New Member Orientation you may complete the ethics training class.

  • Introduction to MLXchange

    Learn the basic tools of MLXchange. It does the work for you, emailing the listings that match your client's criteria automatically through auto notification. Learn the quick way
    to find a listing or view your inventory with one click right from the home page or
    create a professional CMA in less time than it takes to drive to work. This is a
    mandatory session.

    ** Review the home page features
    ** Add a new client from the search module, saving a search and setting prospecting notification features
    ** Searching and viewing listings, using the map, showing road, aerial, hybrid, and
    locator features
    ** Adding additional search criteria
    ** Viewing/printing/emailing reports, images, virtual tours, tax, map, driving directions and MLS listing history
    ** Customizing the hotsheet configurations
    ** Search Tax
    ** Creating a professional CMA
    ** Personalize user contact information

  • Entering and Updating Listings in MLXchange

    This class is mandatory if you will be entering and updating your own listings. You will
    be taught how to input and modify listings, enter photos, and add attachments along
    with valuable tips and techniques.

    **Listing maintenance authorization forms
    **Explain the importance of accurate data
    **Rules and Regulations
    **Review the profile sheet
    **Entering a new listing, using tax auto pop, reviewing the fields that have specific entries in the Rules and Regulations
    **Adding images, attachments, open house information, Supra Key and ShowingTime
